Josh 92/365 year #2

Another annoyed photo of Josh. I got a new lens today (tamron 28-75mm) and I couldn't wait to try it out. Josh was kind enough to pose for a photo for me;)

Stephanie and Stephanie 91/365 year #2

Today was a pretty exciting day for me. I had my first photo shoot ever. My friends Stephanie and Stephanie are graduating from college this month. Their moms wanted Photos of them in their caps and gowns. They asked if I could take some photos...I jumped at the chance!

My new plant! 90/365 year #2

A year ago Josh killed one of my plants. He was watering it everyday and by the time I found out what he had been doing it was to late. I finally found a replacement.

View from Washington Park 89/365 year #2

I went for a long walk this evening. Josh left for his Bachelor party in Vegas bright and early this morning. I talked to him tonight and it sounds like he's having fun and he also won some money.
I've been a little melancholy this week. There's been a lot of things going on in my life that I've had very little control over. It's very humbling.

Trying a new Recipe 88/365 year #2

Josh decided to try out a new recipe tonight. Balsamic Chicken with fresh mozzarella. It was really yummy! I'm so lucky to have a man that can cook!

One month till the wedding!

I've been working on my thank you notes after my shower. I love that people in Portland leave thank you notes for bikes.

Unpacking 86/365 year #2

I made it back to Portland Monday evening. It was an interesting trip back to Minnesota. My suit cases were packed full. I tried to shove in as many of my shower gifts as possible. I got a lot of kitchen linens. Here some of my favorite towels that we received.

Another Minnesota Sunset 85/365 year#2

I took this one out of my sis's car window. I spent the day visiting with relatives. One of our loved ones was in the hospital so we spent the day together. I really have an amazing family. I'm glad I got to see so many people I love...I just wish it would have been under better circumstances.

On the Farm 83/365 year #2

Josh flew into Minnesota to help me run around and get things done. We went to the farm in the evening for a barbeque. While we were there mom received a phone call with some scary news about a relative. We rushed home and hoped for the best. These are the sort of days you don't plan on having when you start a project 365.

Little Pink Petals 79/365 year#2

I'm so happy that I took a few photos of the blooms on my parents trees in their front yard on Monday. On Tuesday we had 50 mile per hour winds in Southern Minnesota and they blew all the petals off the trees: (

Here's another photo of my dad. He doesn't like having his photo taken so I have to be sneaky...I took this one of him as he was loading groceries into the car.

Wind Farm 77/365 year #2

I snapped this photo somewhere in Northern Iowa out the car window on the ride back to Minnesota. I had gotten very sick the night before so I laid in the back seat of my mom's car while she and my dad switched off driving. Road trips aren't much fun when your sick.

Foot Reflexology Sandals 75/365

On the 14th my parents and I headed off on a road trip to Manhattan Kansas for my sisters graduation. At the first gas station we stopped at my Dad found reflexology sandals. He actually dabbles in foot reflexology so he was pretty excited. He tried them out at the next truck stop we stopped at. Yes they were a little on the small side but at least they made the long ride entertaining.

My mom and her baby 74/365

I made it back to Minnesota on May 13. It was so good to see my fam! My friend Ann picked me up at the airport and then my parents took me out for dinner that evening. When we got back to the house my mom and I took turns hugging our kitty.

I'll be trying to play catch up this week after my 13 day trip to Minnesota.

Last Portland Photo for a While :( 73/365

I'm headed back to Minnesota bright and early tomorrow morning for a 13 day trip. The trip is already jam packed full. I'm headed down to my sisters graduation on Thursday in Kansas. I plan on spending a lot of the time working on wedding Junk (note to everyone who's reading this never have a big wedding halfway across the country from where you are currently living). Some friends and family are also throwing me a wedding shower. Needless to say it will be a fun trip but it's also guaranteed to be an exhausting one.

New dishes 71/365 year#2

Wedding gifts have slowly been rolling in. I have a wedding shower on May 23rd back in Minnesota and a lot of people are opting to ship the gifts straight out here to Oregon. We got six gifts on Friday but I waited until Josh was home to open them. We got all our dinner plates from Josh's parents and all our salad plates from Josh's aunts. Tonight was our first night using them...It's so much fun getting rid of our old stuff and replacing it with great new stuff.

I'm not real happy with the shallow DOF...I had to use a f1.8 aperture for a quicker shutter speed. Next time I won't be so lazy and get my tripod.

Near miss 69/365 year #2

I went out to the Kennedy School tonight to meet an old college room mate for dinner. I was a little nervous because we had a falling out during our time living together mostly because I was kind of a bitch. I really had a blast and I feel so much better about the situation. It was a lot of fun to catch up and see how much we've grown since 2003. On the way home it was 12:17am and I realized I still hadn't taken my photo. I grabbed my camera and snapped a photo in my vanity mirror in my car. So I technically failed for the day but I'm all about bending rules so this is #69.

Time Consuming 68/365 year #2

Our invitations finally came. I stayed up till 2:30 in the morning trying to get them done...didn't make it but the bulk went out on Friday. Seriously these little slabs of paper have been the most stressful thing about this wedding so far.

out of control 67/365

This little plant has been growing out of control ever since I started talking to it.

My life has been pretty out of control lately too. I'm headed back to the Midwest next week for 13 days to work on wedding stuff, and go to my sis's graduation in Kansas. Work has been crazy busy...I've been working on hiring summer staff, and making sure every thing is set in place for the next trip to Minnesota and for the chunk of time I'm going to be gone this summer for my wedding. Josh and I had problem with our wedding invitations and they got stuck in the mail. Sounds like we'll finally be getting them tomorrow so that means I'm going to be up all night tomorrow working on getting them all ready to mail out. On top of all this I promised Josh I'd take him to the airport at 3:30 am tomorrow. Yikes...thanks for letting me vent!

Somedays...65/365 year #2

Somedays aren't yours at all,
They come and go
As if they're someone else's days
They come and leave you behind someone else's face
And it's harsher than yours
And colder than yours
~Regina Spektor

Look 300 days left :)

The annoyed face 64/365 year #2

Josh and I spent the day together shopping for shoes, getting his tux fitted, and buying baby gifts for our friends. I was nice to hang together even if it was just running around doing errands. He got back last night real late from a week of training.

Anyways 62/365 year #2

My little sis introduced me to the poem Anyways by Suzanne Cleary I few years ago. She thought I would get a kick out of it because I always say anyways instead of anyway. I love the poem and you will too...check it out here!
