Josh and I went for a walk in the park tonight. I went into work early today so I got to leave early! My boss also bought me bento today because I've been helping out in the office here and there. Yeah life is good.

I walked to work today. I took this photo on the way home while listening to a This American Life pod cast.
It was the first day back for our after school kids after spring break. There was a whole fun energy though out the whole community center. I know I've said it before but I'll say it again...I love my job.

I rained all day today...so I stayed inside for most of it. I watched Law and Order Special Victims Unit and did laundry. It was a perfect Saturday.

I love love love spring in Portland...I could just wander around for hours looking at all the changes all around me! Spring used to always be my least favorite season....but after moving to Portland I have to say it's ranking right up there with fall.

Josh and I headed up to the park tonight after I got done with work. We both really want to get better at portrait photography. We took a ton of photos of each other...some of them turned out pretty cool some of them sucked. We both know right now the only way to get better is to keep taking photos....I might try to post a few more from our little shoot.

I made it back to Portland....I took a ton of pictures while I was back in Minnesota. Most of the photo's I took were of my cat so I'll slowly try to start uploading the here and there this week. I snapped this photo today while I was waiting for Josh to pick me up at the airport.

My cousins stopped by for a visit...the littlest cousin found Taco hiding under my parent's bed. Taco isn't a very friendly cat but we were somehow able to get him out so that the little one could meet him.

My sister and her boyfriend came to visit today. We all went out for supper at the Tav on the Ave. My sister and her man played the little hockey game while we were there. I think her man won.

I'm not real happy with how this photo turned out but it's the only one I took today. I brought Taco to the vet today and he was not happy about it. The vet game him a shot and took some blood. The poor little guy had a pretty hard day.

I gave my dad a ride out to the farm tonight to pick up his Jeep. Of course I had to visit the sheep. There are all sorts of little lambs being born and the are so cute.

Wedding Shoes 14/365 year #2

My mom, our friend Deanna and I headed up to the Mall of America with 2 goals in mind. We wanted to find my mom a mother of the bride dress and I needed to find some wedding shoes. When it came to my shoes comfort was the most important component. My dress is long so no ones really going to even see my shoes. I found these Pumas in black and I knew if they came in silver or white they'd make the perfect wedding shoes. I lucked out! They are so comfortable!

Here's my favorite kitty and the back of my mom's head. I ended up flying into Minnesota the same time as my aunt and uncle so they gave me a ride back down to Mankato to meet up with my family. It was so great to see my parents and my kitty.

I waited until the last minute again today. I worked early today and I'm so bummed I didn't take my camera with me to work. Sunny mornings here in Portland are so amazingly beautiful. Josh had a great dinner waiting for me when I got home tonight. After dinner we went to check out my friends new photography studio. It was pretty sweet. I should have felt all inspired to take a great photo after seeing his cool space but I came home and watched TV instead. I still have a lot to do before I take off for Minnesota on Friday.

I had a crazy busy day today. I worked on wedding stuff this morning. I went to work this afternoon and this evening Josh and I went and worked on our wedding registry. We also picked out his tuxedo. As I was pulling my daily sugar free ice cream treat out of the fridge I realized I had yet to take a photo. Sorry so lame...but I know that some days are just going to be lame.

I did a self portrait today because I haven't taken one for a while. I also really liked The Rouge Players group today...Chiaroscuro . I hope I did this right....eek.

Ok so my state of mind for Theme of the Week is tired and foggy. This whole daylight savings thing has my whole body out of whack. It's amazing what one little hour can do. I also have a ton of stuff on my mind. I'm going to Minnesota on Friday to work on wedding stuff. I have so much to do be fore I leave.

Smile! 8/365 year #2

I know I just posted a photo of my honey just the other day but I couldn't resist posting this one. It's not everyday I cant get a smiling photo out of him. He came home last night and today we had a fun little day. We walked over to the Pearl district to buy my friend a birthday present. We had some lunch at Laughing Planet and stopped at a cup cake shop for desert.

Tonight we celebrated my friend's birthday with a Wii birthday party. We of course had cake tonight. I haven't had as much sugar as I had today sense Christmas and it's making me sorta queasy. Oh well it was a fun Sunday and I get to have Josh all to myself for the next 4 days!

Little Bird 6/365 year #2

This little guy was sitting on my favorite park bench.

It was such a beautiful day here in Portland today. I started work very early this morning which meant I got off work super early. I went for a long walk. I wandered around town and ended up in the park. Days like today reaffirm my love for this city!

Cocktail 4/365 year #2

Took a bunch of lousy photos today. I also got my remote in the mail so I tried a couple self portraits....I looked really tired in all of them. This is one of the last photos I took today. It's Josh's old fashioned cocktail. He randomly makes one of these every now and then. I thought the colors were kind of pretty. I'm almost positive his glass came from a hotel room somewhere.

Today not a whole lot happened....3/365 year #2

Some times days like this are the best days. About a third of the kids in my after school program have been out sick the last few days. I've had my staff run the program and that's allowed me to be able to work on program planning for spring break camps and summer camps. As much as I miss the kids that have been out sick its been so nice to be able to catch up on things.

I'm also really excited for spring...each day I roam around looking for little signs that its here. Today I didn't see too many new little buds or new flowers but Iove love love that the days are getting longer.

Here I go agian! 1/365 Year #2

Yep I'm starting a new project365. I have goals for this go round.

1. Learn how to take great photos with my DSLR.
2. Find people willing to pose and improve taking portraits.
3. Document this next year with photos and descriptions....This is going to be a big busy year for me and I'm excited to have way to reflect back on this next year.

I feel like this is a fresh start full of possibilities. I'm pretty pumped for the next 365 days!
